Trevor Young
Just a small part of Trevor's contribution to the Australian music industry It was over 40 years ago since Trevor left home to play music
simply for the love of it.
Making his life’s work music and playing drums with some of Australia’s most inspiring musicians, it was time to complete some of my songs, straight from the heart.
Resulting in the release of my first C.D. ‘some drummer’
He started playing in the mid 1960's with Blacksies Babies and sometimes found him-self playing with two or three different bands in any one week.
After a time playing with Chain he joined Blackfeather, he then Joined up with Lobby Loyde, and the Coloured Balls it was a great challenge and experience.
The Coloured balls were the high-energy live band of the early seventies and produced some unique recordings, with some of these classics being re-mastered and released 2006.
Trevor has always searched for that elusive combination, where all of the elements are right so the music can only be great.
After the Coloured Balls, there were gigs with many bands, Full Boar,
Buster Brown, Cold Chisel, Clawed Rains, Intruders and many more. Trevor has always played for the love of it, and always will.
2002 - as a musician and songwriter for over 40 years,
Touring nationally with the “Long Way to the Top” Australian music tour.
2002 - formally admitted into the Australian blues Music Hall of Fame.
Currently Trevor is doing gigs with Foreveryoung "the band,"
Blackfeather and anyone game enough to ask him!
He is also finishing off the recording of my next CD/DVD.
As with many Australian musicians, Staying stimulated when gigs dry up is an on going challenge!
Trevor has always felt the need to be pro-actively involved with the things that have the potential to do some good for Australian Music.
